Nurtured in Nature: A Yoga Retreat in Costa Rica 2027
With Kerry Walker and Carrie Mailloux
February 7 - 13, 2027
Join us for our third annual retreat to Costa Rica’s breathtaking Osa Peninsula. This experience goes beyond relaxation and rejuvenation, offering a meaningful journey of connection to nature, to yourself, to your desires, and to the energy that moves through your life.
Step away from daily routines and distractions so you can reconnect with who you are at your core and explore what you want for the next chapter of your life. Surrounded by the tranquility, abundant wildlife, and magic of this tropical paradise, you’ll return home with a renewed sense of vitality, clarity, and purpose.
For those living in Vermont or other northern climates, this retreat offers the perfect opportunity to step away from the cold, dark days of winter and immerse yourself in the warm, nurturing embrace of the Costa Rican tropics. During your stay, you’ll be invited to disconnect from everyday life and reconnect with yourself and with the supportive community created during the retreat.
Release stagnant winter energy and feel your whole being come alive as you bask in the sunshine, breathe fresh ocean air, and enjoy vibrant, chef-prepared meals. Through nurturing practices such as yoga, meditation, breathwork, and journaling, you’ll have space to cultivate greater ease in your body and mind.
Afternoons are intentionally left open for you to unwind however you choose – take a leisurely walk on the beach, search for wildlife in the jungle, nap in a hammock, paddle through the mangroves on a kayak tour, or book a relaxing spa treatment.
Included in the cost of the retreat is an excursion to see dolphins and go snorkeling in the Gulfo Dulce. This trip was the highlight for many participants last year, and we are excited to return for another unforgettable experience.
Class Offerings
Classes throughout the retreat will include flow, hatha, yin, restorative, and yoga nidra, as well as HypnoBreathwork. In every session, you’ll be encouraged to turn inward and experience the postures and movements from the inside out, rather than focusing on external appearance.
All classes are accessible to a wide range of bodies and experience levels. You’re welcome to attend as many (or as few) sessions as you’d like. Your time on retreat is truly your own.
Where You’ll Stay
Your home in Costa Rica will be Nereus Retreat Center, located just outside Puerto Jiménez, where the rainforest meets the ocean.
Enjoy modern, spacious, air-conditioned rooms and wake each morning to the sounds of waves, howler monkeys, and tropical birds. The cuisine will be a highlight of your stay, featuring colorful, plant-forward, locally sourced meals prepared by a private chef and designed to accommodate a variety of dietary needs.
Excursion
Included in the price of the retreat is a day out on the Gulfo Dulce with a local biologist to observe wildlife and snorkel in the crystal-clear water.
In addition, guests will have the option to participate in additional excursions and experiences while in Costa Rica. These include a visit to a cacao farm to learn the art of chocolate making, guided bird tours around the property, kayaking through mangroves, or visiting Corcovado National Park—one of the most biodiverse places on Earth. Although it represents only 3% of Costa Rica’s land mass, it contains more than 50% of the country’s biodiversity.
All excursions can be booked once you arrive, except for the Corcovado trip. Daily park admission is limited, and advance booking is essential. Please let Jen and Stuart (owners of Nereus) know during registration if you would like to join this excursion.
